Further to my request for info on German set:

it seems its the receiver for the Fug. XX1 set, Empfanger E.21. Should be a 
 3 tube set (so I have one missing), regen detector, long wave, made early 
to mid  1930's. Goes with S.21 20 watt sender (anyone have one !! hi) and 
used in  aircraft. 
 
Found one web reference for it being used in a  Siebel Fh104A 
Medium-Powered Five-Seater Monoplane.
 
So, more as it arrives.
