Hi All,
I'll say that my comment of "yech" was too strong, knowing now that a lot of the work done in the subject video was done before the fellow started.
As for the validity of ham radio history of modifying equipment, my opinion is that that should remain history(ie, no longer practiced), at least as far as taking an unmodified piece and modifying it. I think a piece like a BC-348 that your dad modified back in the 50s would be a real cool piece of history to leave like it is and document it as such. I'm not going to include in "modifying" a reversible act of replacing a dead old component with a working one so the function of the gear can be restored.
Dennis sure was right about this stirring up the mud. I sure don't like to see name calling and whatnot. Can't we all just get along?
