[Milsurplus] Unid. You Tube, Transmitter

Al,

I concur with your assessment.
I just looked at the YouTube clip, enlarged it and was able to determine
that the transmitter is the cut-off transmitter section of the BC-474 and
not the transmitter section of the earlier version - Swedish contract -
MI8751. I have both versions so I can compare them.
It is clear from the clip that the panel was sawed off, it's not even
completely straight and there are scoff marks parallel to the cut, where the
hacksaw holder hit it with almost every stroke while cutting. Another
telltale sign of the cut panel is that it doesn't have the "silver" border
on the front, like the other intact 3 sides
The pilot light and the toggle switch are of course in the cable holes.
The knobs on the left side of the panel are not original.

Hi Dave,

I don't have any specifics, but the whole system was based on RCA
light-aircraft radio designs moved to battery tubes in the receivers.

I just spent some more time on the YouTube clip. Like I said it's
definitely not an MI-8751. That 8751 panel is smaller, ending just to
the left of the ANTENNA terminal. The left-side mounting holes on the
YouTube radio would be on the receiver panel of the 8751. What are the
chances it's a sawed off BC-474? Pilot light and toggle switch are in
the holes for the power cords.

Later.... Just found better pix of the BC-474. I'm convinced that's
what were looking at.

Regards,
Al
