The TDE and lower PS (MG set) are able to be separated, but it is a
tough job.  Four shock mounts (each corner) have to be undone, and
there is the multi conductor (partially lead shielded) flat connector cabling
(#12 Ga wires) that connects the two together, that has to be 
unbolted wire by wire
from the connector strip in the upper PS section.  Then you need 3-4 
men to lift the
top section off.  (and vice-versa)

I rebuilt the one above...(with some help). Dirty work, but someone 
had to do it.  :-)

I've also moved an entire TDE intact, and it's not that difficult.  A 
refrigerator
dolly is required plus 2-3 men to shove it into a van. (use two roll 
bars in the
van and lay it horizontally, back side down.  I've also unloaded this same TDE
single-handed, but slowly and carefully, with the dolly still 
attached, of course.

To save a lot of work, I'd recommend keeping it intact, if possible.
