Nope - motor oil is somewhat hygroscopic to remove moisture from the 
engine through regular oil changes.  Best thread protectant I know of is 
one of the variations of anti-seize, available at your automotive parts 
dealer.  Be aware it does get all over everything, including your hands, 
but it will stop any more corrosion and always allow assembly and 
disassembly.  Back when I was in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps, I saw 
*very* rusty nuts on an A/C cooling tower at the edge of the Atlantic 
ocean come off smoothly 20 years after installation, simply because they 
had the product wiped on at assembly.  Also, it is usually mandatory for 
steel against aluminum and aluminum against aluminum parts to prevent 
galling.  Works very well on gaskets you need to remove later as well. :-)
