An expression used to encourage yourself or someone else when it appears 
an endeavor is headed for a disastrous outcome (due mostly to external 
conditions).

Based on when Sully averted tragedy by successfully landing US Airways 
Flight 1549 in the Hudson River. See also, "Land it like Sully."


2. 	Land it like Sully 	
	
To prevent a disaster by finding an unusual solution to your problem.

The Godly act of averting cataclysmic disaster and overwhelming odds to 
forever become a household name.

US Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger landed a crippled plane in the 
Hudson River, resulting in few injuries and no deaths. Birds bust up 
your jet engine? Just land it like Sully.
