In my experience there is an initial drift (on 40M) of about 5 kc downward the first 30 - 45 seconds of key down with the 375.  Much less after that.  On cw,  the transmitter frequency can be varied within this 5 kc range by means of the sending speed.

Just did my first CX contact to W8TM in Ohio using my 
dynamotored BC-375 and it wasn't bad.  Loosened the 
link coupling, which helped with the chirp, and the 
drift wasn't all that bad either.
