Adjusted for inflation, that's just over $90 in 2008 dollars.
There's something fishy about a $710 bid for a still-very-common BC-454-B.
I'd be surprised if any money actually changes hands on that deal.
And last week's $2500 for an "almost" NOS (the seller claims to have
powered it up) BC-348-Q is unexpected. Were it a NOS BC-224-A maybe, but
NOS BC-348-Q models are still common. I got one (with its NOS base and
plug) last year on ebay for $400, which adjusted for inflation back
to the mid-1960s ($59) is well under what surplus dealers were then
charging for well-used BC-348s withOUT mount, plug, and sometimes
dynamotor! On ebay, most BC-348s can be had for less real money today
than was required 40 to 50 years ago.
I wonder what I could get for my complete NOS 1936 USN RAM/GN set?
OK, that's just a joke! Has anyone here ever come across even a
picture of that super rare set (only 16 made, I believe)?
