Dennis,
At least the insulators in the E.H.Scott RCH bathtub caps are some
sort of hard material, which doesn't melt or soften from the soldering
iron heat.
If the cap insulators in my AR88LF are like you're describing, I'll be
in for a lot of aggravation... Then I'll have to find some sort of
material to substitute those insulators, which doesn't melt from the
soldering iron.
The AR-88LF project is not imminent, I have some other gear with
higher priority now.
