This is close, but imagine it four to five feet high:

Seems the one I saw had pins in the legs, you could pull the pin, set the
leg length, then secure it, the feet could be adjusted for angle and locked
with pins, there was chain between the legs to hold them in place, maybe
used for radar or an optical theodolite...

Anyway, I am looking for an extremely rugged tripod.
