[Milsurplus] Amperage ratings for PRC-25 power?

I think the -3vdc also supplies some bias to the synthesizer so it's also used in receive.
In years past I have tried to operate the 25 with no -3vdc & experienced motorboating of the osc.
Even when operating the radio off external DC I've always just used a pair of 'D' cells for this 3v. They will last just about the shelf life of the battery.
For portable use just about any 12v battery, or combination of batteries, will do just fine. I use whatever I can get thats cheep(3ah gell cells currently).
