Greetings Larry;
Once upon a time I obtained (maybe from you) a wooden box
with the following text on the metal nameplate:
Sensitivity Test Plug for Type US/D Nancy Receiver
The box contains two Sensitivity Test Plugs P3000 plus
associated cable and instructions. The Nancy receiver was
part of an infrared unit for signal light communication
between ships. The instruction inside the lid say to remove
the phototube and insert the test plug. Further detailed
instructions say to connect the test cable to a signal
generator to measure the gain of the receiver amplifier.
The schematic of these test plugs shows a network of 5
resistors between the microphone connector center contact on
the top and pin 3 on the tube base. Pin 1 is the common and
connected to the mic connector body and the metal case. "The
attenuation of the test plug is 76 db."
Probably more detail than you want, but feel free to use the
info as you wish. Hope all is well with you!
