Hi,

Late fall I listed a CV-591A/URR SSB converter. I had a few people
interested and one person was to meet me 2 hours from my house and trade
a receiver for it. That person never showed up and never contacted me
again. That was more than five hours wasted for me except that I had a
good day with the dog who accompanied me. I searched for his name in the
list archives and he apparently never posted, either. I'll be looking
for that from now on.

So.. I still have the unit. It works. I fired it up and put the
appropriate signals into it and I got the expected output. I'm
interested in trades like the last time I had it on here. It's kinda
heavy to ship but not unreasonable.

I also have a FR-114A/U which is a tube based frequency counter. Has
Nixies and a boatload of tubes. It only counts to approximately 1 MHz. I
used it with the long timebase to setup PL tones before Comm-Spec made
it so easy. I am going to strip this down for parts ( *lots* of tubes n
sockets n power supply n etc ) unless somebody wants to trade something
else for me to use or strip for equivalent parts (or the already
stripped parts). This will only be of use to somebody who wants a
complete set of some particular equipment. Even though it works it is
not reasonable to acquire it as a 'driver'. It's heavy but can be
shipped with enough freight money. Pickup is northern Michigan.

Both boxes have parts I can use and so are on my "death row". If you or
somebody you know wants either of them speak now or forever remain
silent about hacking up these units. I'm easy enough that we'll find a
way to get them where they are wanted.

73,

Bill KU8H
