Dennis suggested a great list of improvements.  He already knows this 
full well, but I would recommend avoiding putting a thermionic rectifier 
tube in the power supply if you are going to install it internally.  
(External supplies are preferable, frankly.)  The heat balance of the 
BC-224/348 was carefully designed by RCA to provide as stable an 
environment as it could possibly be, but introduction of additional heat 
sources like a rectifier filament within the unvented cabinet drove many 
hams to add cooling holes because of the induced frequency drift.  Other 
than that caution, everything else Dennis recommended is golden.
