This is the "flying spot scanner" I suggested yesterday, but using a
slaved PPI display rather than an X-Y display, synchro to digital
converters ans multipliers (or s-to-d and mulDACs)

IMO, it kinda abuses old hardware, rether than inconvencing some electrons.
