I agree Rob.
If a dyno is diven from a good primary supply, like a hefty battery that
is float charged, they are stable, have a low output impedance, and plenty
of "surge" power.
If not abused by overloading, maintenance is little more than occasional
brush replacement and bearing lubrication.
