I have found that dynamotors are usually quite well regulated and use TBX, TCS sets regularly with them with excellent results.  For my TCK I use an aviation dynamotor for the 500v supply that powers the master oscillator because of the stiff regulation it provides, as well as the rotating machinery ambiance in the shack.

I guess I'll find out how difficult they are to maintain some day, but it doesn't look like rocket science.
