I don't ask any member of any list to call me "mister" or use my last name.
Usually when people do that in forums like this, it's done to make some 
subtle point.  FWIW, it's "Morrow", not "Marrow", but I'll make no bones
about that.  :-)

I expressed my outlook on the questions that you presented, an outlook
which appears to be widely shared on this list to various extent.

In response to your most recent query above, I'd first remark that I have
neither say nor wish to affect the areas of usage into which this
list delves.  More than 40 years ago I was using this equipment as a ham.
The annual 73 Mag Surplus issue was a highlight of the year, and CQ Mag's
excellent Surplus column by Gordon White (not a ham!) was a cherished monthly
event.  Today, I have no interest in the ham use of this equipment, now
or earlier, except when someone has gone the extraordinary lengths to
assemble a complete accurately configured set and put it on the air to
illustrate exactly how the set was utilized by the military.  I really
respect that sort of ham usage!

Strictly as my own personal philosophy, for which I neither evangelize
nor seek converts, I am interested in discussion of and research into:
(1) The technical and engineering aspects of set development, deployment,
    operation, modification, and maintenance, and
(2) Most importantly, the manner in which the soldiers, sailors, airmen,
    and marines, for whom the gear was designed, used the equipment.

Other people's outlooks will be oriented to a completely different direction.
That's fine too.  There is room...folks are welcome...the list is seldom
overflowing with traffic.  :-)
