Re the 6C5
We took one apart. The 6C5 appears to be a stripped 6J7. The 6C5 has a
screen
grid. It is connected to the plate, under the tube, in the tube socket. If
you look at
a glass 6C5, you will see a hole where the 6J7 suppressor grid would have
been
located. We disconnected the screen grid from the plate, and run it to 100
volts.
We then ran grid voltage versus plate currant curves. The 6C5 with this
connection
acted like a tetrode.
