[Milsurplus] Ten-Tec Receiver MIL Version

Hi,

I have an RX-325 and some time back (when it was new) I contacted Ten
Tec about 'options'. They sent me usable information along with a manual
for the SP-325. I was able to see the differences and made some
tentative plans to modify the RX-325 in the direction of the Navy
receiver. One of the reasons I did not make any modifications has been
beaten to death on this and other lists. I didn't want to "ruin" the
resale value. With the comments I have read deriding my receiver I have
that one out of the way.

I had some silly ideas about improving the front end and the IF
filtering along with stabilizing the BFO or making the BFO tunable from
the panel (or a sub-panel). As of today the only remaining obstacle is
overcoming inertia and sharpening the pencil... making some
"replacement" boards/daughter boards to carry the modifications without
permanently changing the radio (that "resale" thing dies hard). I have
used the radio quite a bit in spite of its unpopularity. I won't tell my
325 how little regard some people have for it because it doesn't need
any more discouragement <wink>. I don't really notice any ergonomic
disadvantages over other radios of this type so I would buy a working
SP-325 for $100 right away.

73,

Bill KU8H
