Due to simply not using it, I have decided to sell my PRC-104 / GRC-213
setup. The *theory* of being out in the field has proven to be more
interesting than the *practice* of being out in the field.

This is an interesting setup. First of all, everything works (at least
as far as I can tell). And the pieces are all in very good condition.
I have used the PRC-104 when I was in Army MARS while out in the field,
and at one point I ran single channel ALE communications using my
laptop. I also used this to work several states (wings) while I was
active in CAP communications. The most interesting thing is that I have
gathered together a rather extensive set of pieces and parts and built
some very useful additions.

For powering the radio, I do include four BA-5590 batteries and a case
for them, should you decide to go to the Antarctic or someplace
similar, or just want emergency backup. However, you will probably
never need them, as I made two 8.8 AH NiMH packs (built into the
original small zinc battery cases). To charge them, you could use the
included Hughes battery pack charger, but I find it to be big and slow.
So I made a custom rapid charger which will work from either 12 volts DC
(I include a cigarette lighter plug and a AC adapter for when power is
available) or from a 12 volt solar panel. I designed the boost
converter to go to the max power point of the (included, special forces
folding) solar panel so it tends to a slightly higher input voltage,
depending on how much light the panel gets. You could go out in the
field and have radio use every day and night and so long as you had
sunny days never have to return to civilization. Just have one battery
on charge while you use the other.

I also made a mod (easily removable) to the GRC-213 shelf which allows
the radio to simply slide in and make its power connection without
having to attach a cable to the back.

You could install the GRC base and antenna and speaker in your vehicle
and then pull the RT and go on foot, enough pieces and parts for both uses.

I do not want to part this out so am really only interested in selling
as a set. I am asking $3400 and want to post it here before considering
the e-place. It took me a long time and way more than I am asking to
get so many good condition parts of this setup all together. I am
conflicted about selling, but it makes no sense for me to just have this
just sit in a closet.

This setup is not small or light, there is a lot of stuff here! So
pickup or meeting is preferred, although shipping is possible but will
take a number of boxes and will be a significant expense. I am located
in Westchester, NY but I have the gear up in mid-Massachusetts (so can
meet near either location).

I regret that I cannot sell or ship outside the USA. Please do not ask
unless you are prepared to file for an export license and have a
logistics firm.

Here is an inventory, photos are on the link below, and with the numbers
shown.
