Robert,
As I recall the TCS dynamotors run all the time (not PTT) so you might
try a step-starting arrangement to get through initial startup turn-on
problem. Use a series resistor value that limits the initial surge
current to the rated supply value and once the motors get up to speed
short it out of the circuit. This can be dome manually with a switch
(try this first) or with a relay driven by a time delay or voltage
sensing circuit.
