That nifty blue-front BC-312 sans cabinet.  I almost bought it, since I've 
never seen a BC-312 in electric blue livery before, but I regained sanity 
just in time ... I did buy a cherry Swan 120, but I'm crazy like that ... 
still looking for the 240, 160, and other Swan oddities, affordable* of 
course.

Tirade on, guys ... you're more entertaining than TV and NPR combined, and 
far more instructional ...

* a term subject to intensely subjective interpretation ... to me, it means 
around $100 for a working copy with cable and manual.  But I'm too old & 
tired to fix mucha anything anymore, and usually broke ... a 117XC sits 
unhinged upstairs, with the HV capacitors (two of six total!) re-forming as 
I speak.  Only took me a whole hour to trace the (unlabeled) circuit and 
figure out how to unhook them for this ...
