eHam.com has a few reviews including mine. I have had one for a year  
and really like it. Heaven forbid if anything blows up. It has some  
exotic custom semiconductors inside. It has a great instant response  
IF driven spectrum scope which makes you realize how much the one on  
the latest Icom HF rigs lag.  The PR 700 does all modes and will even  
demodulate subcarriers. Not sure what it was used for. Bug sweeping in  
embassies has been suggested. Unlike most surveillance rcvrs the PR  
700 actually can be used as a decent but not superb  (this wont  
replace your R 390A) communications receiver. It is sufficiently  
sensitive and selective on HF. Prices for working examples range from  
about $450 to absolutely absurd.
