All I have found so far is in a chronology of Navy Communications -
"1944 - Tests of radio teletypewriter equipment are successfully conducted
on board various Navy Ships. After the Leyte, P.I., landings in World War
II, a concerted effort is made to utilize radio teletypewriters on board
ships."
But I don't have any info on what ships were outfitted during the war.
I have compiled some info on WWII Navy RATT/RTTY equipment at
http://www.virhistory.com/navy/rtty-02.htm
- addditions, corrections, and clarifactions always welcome
cheers,
Nick

I wonder what classes of US ships in WW2 rated having TTY
gear?
All i know for certain is that seagoing tugs and corvettes did
NOT have any TTY gear. Also most likely NOT any DE.
