These are darlings of the audio-fools, and typically run about $60 US each...$240 total, if you're lucky!

For that reason, BC-**-230 and BC-**-430 transmitters rarely show up today with any tubes.

That's one of the attractive things about the many significant differences between the USN's later RU-**/GF-** sets and the USAAF's SCR-**-183 and -283 sets.  The USN sets use tubes that are still pretty much easily and cheaply acquired...tubes that haven't (yet) been enshrined in audio-fool mythology.
