The good thing for the milsurplus community is that most of us know
you and have done business directly with you and others over the
years, Robert. To me, that privilege and the resulting opportunity to
avoid the general hassles of ebay in the majority of cases is much
appreciated.

The funny thing I remember from the early paypal discussions years
back was folks saying 'why not take it to improve your chances of a
sale?'. Now it seems many are willing to dump all other options in
favor of the convenience of paypal. Which gets back to the whole
'limiting your sales' issue. If you're in the business to sell volume,
the convenience of streamlining payment forms is a plus. If you're out
there looking for an item or two, the hassles and possible security
issues involved likely aren't worth it.

I'm one of those folks who never took ebay more seriously than seeing
it as another tool to use in the search for that stuff we can't live
without. So it wouldn't break my heart to see them go all-paypal. Like
relying on cellphones, we might have to remember what it was like a
few years ago when the skill of being resourceful was more important
than convenience. Those who remain flexible and are able to adapt will
be the ones to succeed moving forward.

Boycott isn't likely to affect ebay one bit. Particularly since the
gist of the article that got this whole discussion going is that ebay
wants to move away from auctions to Buy It Now sales.
