I "guess" I'm that person....
The last communication I had with Nolan was in the summer of 2001.... I
was providing the roll chart information for my Hickok 539C.
Then, communication just stopped....
This same question (about the website) came up a couple of years ago and
"someone" on a reflector said that he had passed away. I have nothing
further.... but, I did do a few searches this morning. The file that
Nolan sent to me shows his name as Nolan E. Lee. The middle initial is
important.
I looked at QRZ and there's only one Nolan Lee listed, and that's a Nolan
G. but this is not conclusive as I have no idea if he were licensed or
not.
There is a website listing all of the people (all 82 million of them)
that have had a social security number and are deceased. It's maintained
by the Social Security Administration, so it's mostly accurate. There
are three listed with deaths after 2001.... but two are Nolan R and one
is Nolan D. However, the fact that he does not appear on this list is
not proof that he's still alive. The list only contains names for
individuals whose death has been reported to the Social Security
Administration.... by a survivor. If it's not reported, it's not
listed. They do not search for entries.
