[Milsurplus] what's it for?

It looks like the dynamotor that was used in the 6 volt Motorola FMTR-140D and FMRTU-140D.  The FMTR was for lowband (30 MHz to 50 MHz) and the FMTRU was for highband (150.8 MHz to 174 MHz).  The 140D units were rated at 60 watts output.  The FMTR-80D and FMTRU-80D were rated at 30 watts output and had a smaller dynamotor.  There were also 12 volt models of both units.

The 140D and 80D were from the mid 1950s.

Anyone know what it goes to?
 
My guess would be some 1950s-era 6 vdc automotive two-way radio.
