The bolt-on power supply was just one of the options
for the KWM-2/2A. The transceiver AND that power
supply fit nicely into the Samsonite cases we used in
Mobile/Combat Comm Groups in the Air Force.
I believe it is the PM-2.

Subject: [Milsurplus] KWM-2A - different sizes?
I own a KWM-2A that I will be restoring over the winter timeframe, it was
a gift from my Elmer, and has spent some time in a mouse-infested shed
so there are some, ahem, gifts that were left by the previous residents,
along with missing tubes, etc.
I spent the last weekend helping the crew of the USS Torsk in Baltimore, MD,
on their annual work weekend, and they have a KWM-2A in their radio room
in NICE shape. However, in looking over the unit, I notice that it did not have
a separate power supply unit, like most S-series have. It instead had an
attached box, same height and width of the radio’s main body, attached to
the back end of the rig. It extended the length of the case by a good 6
inches, and was painted the same color as the radio’s case, and had the
same profile. I am assuming that this is some sort of power supply box,
tacked onto the back end of the radio. But I can’t find any mention of this
anywhere on the web.
Help, please?
