[Milsurplus] Bellalae, Shortland air wrecks

Here is a YouTube video from a Solomon Islands
news broadcast about some palefaces coming in
and buying up some treasures from the aboriginals
for a figurative handful of trade trinkets. As always
was and is, the aboriginals get stiffed. But on the
other hand, the locals had neither the faculty nor
will to provide for the WW2 aircrafts' preservation,
and no matter how much you paid them, the corrupt
chiefs would pee away the money posthaste anyway.
So this clearly seems the best solution, even if
effected somewhat opaquely.

If you fail to understand completely much of the
narration, it's because it's islands pidgin, a
derivative of various languages besides english.

It amazes me how bright the "meatball" ( Hinomaru )
on the one aircraft wing is, after 60+ years in the
jungle.
