Mark,
The transmitter you'd want to run with the BC-342 is the BC-191.
There were a few SCR-* configurations with the two. There was of
course the BC-312/BC-191. The only difference between the BC-342 and
the BC-312 is the label and the AC supply instead of the dynamotor.
You take a '312, pop out the dynamotor, pop in the AC supply and you
get a BC-342 with the BC-312 label and vice versa.
The BC-191 transmitter also had a number of AC supplies which could be
used in a fixed location, instead of the 24 V dynamotor. The BC-342
would have been used in that case.
If you like the ART-13, but you don't want it because the incorrect
receiver for it, how about trying to trade the BC-342 for a BC-348 for
the correct receiver (or rather one of the correct receivers) for the
ART-13?
My 2 cents - other opinions may vary...
