As one "po-boy" to another: The 545, though big, is (or was)
a sweet scope for us shade-tree guys, if you can stand 45 MC bandwidth.
I had one, but gave it to a friend when I moved to Nevada- too big to take
along.
The problem you'll have is keeping it running. It's old and many
of the parts are unique to the beast. You need the correct Tek probes.
You need silver solder, because many of the terminals
are made of silver-coated ceramic. If you use regular solder beyond
just a "smidge," the terminals will fail. If you're very handy with
component-level repair, and you're willing to wait and hunt when
you need a part or a CRT, and you like "big," it's a honey.
But like other "honeys," it can be high maintenance.
