Yup.....they are for camo netting.....

And that is the contents of the mast kit.......Should also have some of the OD Green 
'parachute cord' in there as well.....

In the mid 1980's, my MI company had at least several thousand of them (and we were the 
last unit in the division to get anything).....multiply by all the units at the time and there were 
many millions of them in use....probably as many more sitting in warehouses around the 
world....

Have been told by a couple guys working supply at Ft Lewis that 99% of the 'forest' camo 
gear is getting dumped to surplus as the current thinking is that most future needs will be for 
'desert' gear...if equipment is not extremely easy to change (read "no work at all"), they are 
getting rid of it...

Just my $.02 worth (in todays economy, that makes it less than $.01)
