[Milsurplus] What's with the R-96/ SR

This is the receiver i thought was R-96:

"Boulevard radio" from kit. Actually, i think it's a repackaged and
de-nameplated FRC-something by Wilcox, part of a one-bay
transmitter + receiver.  I was thinking of bidding, don't know if i will:
 1- it's huge 2- no bandspread control 3- looks like minimal tuning
gear reduction, which means fast tuning rate on this single tuning
control.
