Anyone who ever met Bill will be shocked. Though he smoked like a
chimney, he was a big, strapping man. I visited his museum for the
first time back in February 2005 and again in October of 2006 with the
guys from my wedding party (I got married in Tampa). We had a great
time, Bill's dry sense of humor was always enjoyable. His guest book
was an interesting read.
Bill's museum went far beyond radio gear. When we last spoke, he was
looking for a larger facility to house it all. Here's hoping someone
keeps it all together, in honor of a man who did more than just his
duty for his country. A huge loss for the historical community.
