Hi Eugene:
The U-229 style audio accessories are general in nature and not specific to one
radio. See a photo gallery of some common U-229, U-77 and older audio
accessories at: http://www.prc68.com/I/MAA.shtml
See the Audio pin out info for the U-229 type connector at:
http://www.prc68.com/I/U229PO.shtml#A
Pin E is for CW, so yes you can have a key, mike and cans all at the same time.
Unfortunately the U-229/U Y-cable does not have all the pins duplicated and so
will NOT work with your HF radio. A custom cable is needed. I've thought
about making custom U-229 cables let me know if you're interested.
Have Fun,
Brooke Clarke, N6GCE

Hi All, this is my first post here.
Just picked up a neat little hf backpack radio, a southcom SC120D. I hope to
use this camping next month.
The unit uses an H-250 mic/earphone combo. I was wondering if there was ever a
headphone/mic combo made for this? I know there is an H-251 headphones, but is
there a model with cans and a mic?
Also, if I wanted to get a second person listening in, I have heard there is a
"Y" cable that could possible be used. Anyone know what the designation for
that might be?
Lastly, the connector used for the H-250 is also used for a cw key. Anyone know
if there was ever a way to get headphones, mic and key all connected up at the
same time?
Thanks
Eugene w2hx
