Hello-
I thought I would ask if anyone was familiar at all with these sets. I have made some progress with the transceivers. They are made to run on 27.5 VDC and I have powered up several and tested the receive / transmit functions, as far as listening to the signal gen on several frequencies and measuring carrier power output (briefly into well shielded dummy load).
I am removing some of the rack plug-in connectors and parts in order to make these more of a "desktop" affair. The 27.5 VDC power is fed in through a couple of feedthrough filters. These are easy to attach a DC cable to. The speaker High/Low connections are easy to tie into on an output filter block. The non-standard RF connector is easy to change out to an N type.
My main question is concerning a pair of 115 VAC leads that I have identified. These go through identical feedthrough filters as the 27.5 VDC. The transformers in the power supply appear as round (approx. 1-3/4" OD x 2" long) torroidal types enclosed in metal cans. They do not look hefty enough, to me, to be 60 cycles, but I could sure be wrong. There is a filter choke that dwarfs the two transformers.
I am curious if these units were used in vehicles or maybe even airborne? From what I recall most of the 115 VAC 400 CPS was 3 phase, but this unit only has two AC leads. I have not, of course, tried to power them with AC yet. Thought I would see if anyone might shed some light on this.
It appears some of the modules MAY interchange with the FA-8792 BUEC transceivers, but I do not have any of them on hand here to verify.
    Just an update, thanks, Byron.
