Reading "The Big Show" by Pierre Clossterman about flying Spitfires
for Free Fench outa Biggin Hill, England in '43.

ZZ landings (zero zero) had aid of spotter pilot & "goniometer man" at and
of glide path. 

Think I knew there were 120mhz localizer rx-s in RAFs, but no glide-slope.
Goniometer man might-a been the substitute.

Also know SCR-270 display used goniometer to get echo phase-shift to
compute range.

This term has me by the gonios.
