Watched "Destination Gobi" last night. Of course with the idea
of seeing the radio content.

There was only one scene which had somethng recognizable as a radio,
and it looked like the upper right corner of an RBM, with the chart holder.
Which, might even be factual, as the RBM and its companion transmitter
were a transportable system. There were a number of scenes that showed
prop type electronics, but nothing recognizable.

There was one scene, where the transmitter(which we never saw)was
being repaired after the air raid, the dialogue mentioned that the 807
was smashed
and there was no replacement.

The movie was supposedly based on a true incident, the requisitioning of
saddles to give to the natives in return for their help. And of course the
whole idea of weather stations in the Gobi was true, but the plot of
the movie did seem stretched a bit thin. Still, enjoyed watching it.
