[Milsurplus] Ham mods using the scientific method (longish)

Mac, 

The ARB is shaped like the AN/ARR-15 which replaced it (similar to the ATR 
form factor).  It's as good as the BC-348 plus was set up for remote control, 
including band switching.  Which none of the BC-348's were.  Outside of those in 
my vehicles and some AM/FM radios in the house, in 46 years as a ham and 39 
years as an engineer I've never owned or borrowed any civilian receivers.  So 
can't comment on those.
