High frequency line voltages are not hard to get these days, with older solid
state static inverters being fairly easy to get. The days of screamers is long
gone. 800 CPS has a very significant weight advantage over 60 CPS (something
like 1/13) so makes sense for aircraft. Lots of other units used it too.
