Darned if I didn't have a success at Warner Robbins w.
what amounted to a SCS-1... the BCs 638, 639 (2), & 640
They're set up in hut next to portable ww2 control tower
along w. TRC-1 entry point into ww2 carrier telephony
network
Then I gave a speaker infinate baffle that was a turret crate
sideboard stenciled to Bell Bomber plant from Glen L Martin Co.
That's on display in Marietta, GA B29 / Bell plant museum
But I faced bad rejection for a loan @ Atlanta History's
WW2 exhibit in 06 & o7
Have a pal that operated in Oran in 8/42 w. a SCR-188 (I
think) BC-191, RA-42, PE-75, BC-342 (they used a '224 or
'348 in a foto - maybe from a wreck. And amazingly this
was a 11-man crew-served 'portable' precursor to the SCR-299
bread truck)
Were gonna run on 3885 & give demos. But curators wanted
things Atlantans did @ home like sew on battle ribbons,
make pomade sent overseas, etc. Seriously.
Too bad. Oobla di - oobla da - life goes on
