The 1:1 scale model of Torn E.b. receiver would go well with your 1:1 scale
polystyrene scratch-built armored car.
It has occurred to me several times over the years that maybe i should convert
to collecting "military radio miniatures". With the new model kits available of military
field radio operator sets, the field is expanding. The oldest are lead toy soldiers with
somewhat fanciful radio sets, these dating ( i think ) back to the 1930s. With this
collectible, my whole collection would fit in one cardboard bushel box, making it easy
for the next move.
However, the tactile feature would be missing. I knew if i bought that polystyrene
Torn E.b., the toggle switches would be painted on the front panel, not 3-dimensional.
Also the connector shell has no pins in it. Hard to connect to. I would be as disappointed
as when at young age i ordered from a comic book advertisement, "100 Toy Soldiers
Bombers Ships Packed in Army Foot Locker" for $1.98. The "foot locker" was about
as big as a cube of butter. -Hue
