I can't help with any information on the set itself, but in answer to you 
last question, either RHZ doesn't fit into the Navy nomenclature system, or they 
may have taken a block of letters higher than the Navy ever got to.  As of 
January 1945, the Navy had up through RED.  In NAVSHIPS 900,116 revised through 
10/01/52 the list stops at REA.  RED had been renomenclatured AN/URR-13 and I 
guess got dropped.  Although, as an aside, in the late 60's and early 70's 
AN/URR-13 and AN/URR-35 receivers were still referred to in the Fleet as RED's.
