When you're a youngster scrounging transistor radios, old table
radios, and dreaming of Lafayettes and Halliscratchers, then you
see a FAIR catalog, it's a revelation of an entire different world.
Radios that look like weird metal industrial equipment; radios that
come packed in wooden trunks heavier than you can lift. Then you
see some similar beast up close in some ham's shack and the flame
is lit.....
