Dave, re the "DF MAB", how did they feed the two wires for
the loop, into the set? I assume that the single wire for the
antenna was as with the standard set. Have you seen documentation
for this anywhere?

I wonder if a dragging ground wire would improve the performance
of these low HF frequency radios.  -Hue  K7HUE
