The closest person I know to this is Mike Hanz. Contact him at aaf-radio at aafradio.org. He has done radio restoration work for the Smithsonian on the Enola Gay and other aircraft. You can view part of his stunning, mouth-watering collection at http://aafradio.org/

Good luck.

Subject: [Milsurplus] Smithsonian

Is anyone familiar with what the Smithsonian holds in the way of WW II
electronics, besides that in the Enola Gay and other planes?

Do they collect a wide variety of radio and radar systems and the
manuals for them or what? How do they determine what items to add to
their collections, and do they dump stuff they own that is not of
current interest?

Thanks,
-John
