As I recall, the bypass capacitor on the emitter resistor
is there to REDUCE the negative feedback that is the
result of increasing emitter current.

Gents:

     (I remeber this one from college, back in the Dark Ages.)  The cap is there to bypass audio and higher freqs (AF+) to prevent said frequency variations from causing the operating point of the device to follow AF+ variations in current flowing through the emitter resistor.  The bypass cap essentially eliminates any AC fluctuations from destabilizing the opeating point.  FWIW.
