Maybe it's getting some well-deserved appreciation. For a set whose design evidently began near the end of WWII, it's a very technically competent series. It was very state-of-the-art for its era.

I suspect that military vehicle collectors have scooped up a lot of this series.

I was very surprised a few years ago that they had the large MT-297 for sale, and how little they charged. What I got was in very nice reconditioned and never re-issued condition. Fair also had until recently very low prices on that other large mounting, the MT-298/GR for two RT-68 and two PP-109 units. Perhaps there wasn't much demand.

But Fair has always had much higher prices on the MT-299/GR for the RT-68/PP-109 and the MT-300/GR for the RT-70/AM-65 combo. I think that was mainly due to demand from folks, especially vehicle collectors, who wanted a radio set from that period, but one that was simple to acquire and assemble.

Probably not. The mounts, as often, will be problematic. I'd be tempted to take any mount I could get, then acquire the associated components.

Note: I've seen a couple of NIB MT-327/GR mounts (for R-110, RT-68, PP-109) at area gun shows, but not recently. Military radio collectors would be wise to visit local gun shows in general.
